July 15th, 2010 SSL certificate needed for your website?
Does your website need a SSL certificate? Well the odds are that you need a SSL certificate if you have an application that is submitted from the web or if you accept payment information on your site. If the application contains sensitive information like your birthday, social security number, drivers license number, work history, phone number, address and other information you need a SSL.
The worst thing than can happen if someone steals someone’s information off of your application and site. Without having a SSL exposing the information is easy and can be a pricey mistake for a business owner. It is possible for someone to hack your pc or the network searching for information that could be valuable for idenity theft. Also another popular form of phishing is using spyware or other software that infects your computer and key-logging software is becoming more and more common. The scary part is you might not even know if you are infected and it is as easy as someone sending you a spam e-mail that you open or just clicking on a spam site.
SSL Certificates are digital certificates that authenticate the identity of a Web site to visiting browsers and encrypt information for the server via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. Securing all online transactions with up to 256-bit encryption you can guarantee your site is secure and feel at ease to know your business transactions are safe and secure from unwanted eyes.
